Things I have learned from recovery

May 23rd, 2017

1. Its ok not to be ok, we are human we have feelings and urges and thoughts and not all the time are they going to be super postitive

2. Food is not an enemy; we simple need it for survival and to nurish our bodies

3. Relapse it ok; we are human we make mistakes and its how we react to them. Its just like riding a bike, we keep trying until we get the hang of it.

4. Recoverying by yourself is really HARD! I've learned that not having any support is super hard and near impossible. I still haven't found much support but the support here has been enough to make me feel like I am not alone and that recovery is ok

5. Alternative eating doesn't fix an eating disorder! I switched to veganism thinking that it would solve all my issues BUT it made things harder. With things like veganism if you are coming from a place of restricting already, and you switch to veganism which is a very restictive diet than its not really going to solve your issues, could it help? Maybe but from my personal experince it made things worse

This is a great post, we all learn different thing from our eating disorder experinces. I am glad that recovery can be a learning experince for all of us. We all are learning new thing all the time and recovering is no exeption.
