Help Me Out? I Need Birthday Ideas
So I have a friend who is autistic, and spent many years being non-verbal. He didn't have many friends, and spent many years in various therapies for his autism, etc.
Because of these issues, he never had a "real" birthday party as a kid. :(
I plan to throw him his first birthday party this year! I want to do all those things that he missed out on over the years.
So what I'm asking of you is...
What do you remember from your birthday parties as a kid, that I could replicate? I don't totally remember mine (I'm getting older hehe). Or anything you've heard of? Even if birthday traditions are unique to your country, please share! I need ideas hehe
Some thoughts I have (but are not necessarily possible for me to replicate) are pinatas, goodie bags, party favors like hats and noisemakers, cake, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, etc.
What else could I do, to create a kids' birthday party for my friend? I want to make him so happy <3 <3 <3

@jesusredeemedme2425 I did not know what a birthday was for 18 years. Now as a adult, thinking about what would have been a fun party for me as a child (if things were different).
I'd want a little dancing area, and a dj
I'd want a bouncy castle
Party games, like egg and spoon race, balloon dart popping game, maybe some yes a piniata, pass the parcel, musical chairs. A party table all set up with picnic foods, then after you've eaten, sing happy birthday and let your friend blow out the candles and make a wish
lots of photos being taken
perhaps a surprise visit from a dressed up cartoon character, from their childhood
maybe a fun scavenger hunt
lots of balloons. Maybe face painting, or a clown or puppet show or a magician

@jesusredeemedme2425 bingo version looks fun ❤ I've never had a party no. Pass the parcel, is you wrap up a gift or sweets in a parcel and wrap the next gift over that parcel, repeat several times. Game play= pass the parcel around the guests while music is playing, when music stops whoever is holding the parcel gets to unwrap the to p later and gets the prize. Then start the music again and continue a pass the parcel 😁

You could also wrap the parcel in several layers of wrapping. When the music stops, that person unwraps one layer. Whoever does the last one gets to keep the gift <3

@jesusredeemedme2425 cause I'm embarrassed being around people, cause I look funny. I only know the people here at the carehome, but I still don't look anyone in the eyes when talking to them. So I would not be comfortable around lots of people at once. I don't leave the carehome, and I don't drink, it's very close to Halloween/week of school. So the other residents are normally at home with their families that week, and so we don't need much staff around that time. And I'm just happy I know what a birthday is, and that I get to celebrate at all😁❤❤
