"There is timing in everything. Timing in strategy cannot be mastered without a great deal of practice.

"There is timing in the whole life of the warrior, in his thriving and declining, in his harmony and ***. Similarly, there is timing in the Way of the merchant, in the rise and fall of capital. All things entail rising and falling timing. You must be able to discern this."

- Miyamoto Musashi, The Book of Five Rings

@slowdecline48 where the asterisks are, it's supposed to say dis.cord. The censoring mechanism here has a second-rate vocabulary. 😒

"All compound things are subject to breaking up. Strive on with mindfulness."

- last words of Siddhartha Gautama (attr.)

@genericbeing

These are fun only quotes, not all that serious:

My quotes:

"What do you mean?!?? I'm as fine as a doorknob, thank you very mu--that did not help me prove my point whatsoever. Though, now that I think about it, I am as fine as a doorknob! Maybe even lampshade!" --me

"Whatever. English not my grammer, right?" --me, again

"We watch and we judge.    ...     In fact, we turn our heads away in disgust!" --me

My sibling's quotes:

"fabulously oily hair toss!" --sibling

"where's my lip balm. There's my lip balm. (insert my dog's name here)'s my lip balm." --sibling

"Hello little knee nails!" --sibling

Teachers (JOKINGLY, don't worry, it was in the nicest way possible!) threatening:

“No you do it in class so start doing it or else I’ll punch you in the face.” --anonymous teacher

"...or else I'll CANE YOU!!" (student says 'I don't think you're allowed to do that) “Then I’ll get your parent’s permission to cane you!” --anonymous teacher 2

"I will definitely scream at you" (student looks at teacher like 'suuurreee') "with my eyeballs." --anonymous teacher 2

Now silly teachers:

“The 3D printers make the sound of my soul dying,” --anonymous teacher 3

“Hidden valley isn’t hidden anymore. I’ve discovered it. Discovered Valley,” --anonymous teacher 3

“And as I was eating their bodies, I would pretend the tomato soup was their blood,” --anonymous teacher 3

“Jack is never locked in. In fact, Jack is locked out,” --anonymous teacher 3

Chapter funny students:

Aggressively says, “I smell like beef!” --anonymous

“Santi, I can’t hear myself think!” --student 1 "Well, I can't hear you think!" --student 2

Chapter favourite club (it's a theatre club, so there are a lot of weird things going on. That's why we say "what goes on in the dressing room, stays in the dressing room) (also, most of these quotes have something to do with the what happens in the club. I will not be explaining any because what goes on in Opera club, stays in Opera club [honestly, I think I'm breaking that rule by even showing some quotes]):

"Somebody be my temporary wife" --student 1

"The things that happen on the Ordonese stairs!" --student 1 (student 3 says "Well, what about the things that happen under the stairs?) "Oh, that's even worse!" --student 1 (I said "miraculously")

"(insert kid's name here), come on. Let go be drunk offstage" --me (reaction now:😑)

"You're marrying your daughter!" --student 3

"We're grown like lettuce, not carrots." --student 1 and student 4

"Intersperse the coocoo with the orderly" --the director

"Okay, are you the Ordonese?" --choreographer (my side nods) "Okay, so you are going to be normal people that get high." (choreographer turns to other side of stage) "And you, Artemites, are already high, but I'm going to need you to get even higher" (student 5 mutters "what if we are already high, but in the Ordonese?")

"Why do you need to quote I sniff (insert name of food here)?" --student 6

and there are all of the quotes in my quote book so far. yeah. what fun?

@genericbeing It’s actually from an old poem by Robert Frost. This line has always helped me push forward, even in my darkest times :
"The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep."
