It's a toss-up...could be one of the following:
- A small basket-type fruit press made of oak, cast iron & steel.
- A five-foot-long bar clamp...the "bar" is a notched length of some kind of hardwood.
- Three oblong rectangular milk crates. Their length is 1.5× their height & width... No one has manufactured such crates in decades.
- Technical pens. They were originally drafting tools for making schematics & construction plans before CAD was a thing. Artists used them for illustration for a while, but almost no one does that anymore. Inkers mostly use fineliners & other disposable pens now...they don't want the maintenance tasks that reloadable technical pens require.

@genericbeing We need a photo. C'mon, generic...let's see that weight. I'm curious now. What do elevator weights look like?...old-time window sash weights, or what?

@slowdecline48 You'd be right in thinking the weight is unusual, its like a rectangular box, its pure iron I think, its painted and weights 50lbs. It looks somewhat similar to this one, only mines cleaner and black.
