What if... $!?
What if you were placed in charge of spending the earths daily worldwide budget, just once (One days revenue from every country)... What would you spend it on?
@genericbeing I'd relaunch the Olympics, since it hasn't been very good one this year, buy myself a lot of great things, and help mostly people with mental health troubles.
Replacement of a few governments, including that of the United States, North Korea &--if I could pull it off--China.
I would not, however, install any democracies. (For a few reasons)

No, no kings...not unless you're talking about a figurehead like the current one in Britain. Charles doesn't rule at all but he serves as a symbol for the citizens to focus on & venerate.
My preferred form of government would either be
- a highly modernized, secularized version of Plato's republic. Basically it would be a nearly pure meritocracy. Officials would not gain a position by campaigning for it, but by proving they're intelligent & principled enough to be worthy of it. There would be a lot of interviewing & various tests involved...or
- a super-sentient AI, existing on a main computer network. (It would be able to transfer/upload itself elsewhere if necessary of course) Because it would be a machine intelligence, it wouldn't be vulnerable to the usual reasoning errors & logical fallacies we humans fall prey to. This idea is hypothetical right now, as even the best AIs aren't nearly developed enough to run a lemonade stand, let alone a country. But in 10 to 15 years from now, that could change...
@slowdecline48 I'd prefer that Republic, I've worked a bit with AI and I've been able to consistently outsmart it in different ways, AI is eminently booksmart it is not in point street savvy.
@genericbeing Very true. AI is still in its infancy...the technology has a way to go before it can handle real-world problems in real time.
