Important Update to Group Support Rooms - CC and SYS
Hello amazing group supporters!
Two announcements:
Over the past months, I have received continuous feedback about the adult Compassion Corner room and ideas on how to improve the room and make it a more positive and productive place to be. I have taken a lot of time to brainstorm options with other admins, listeners, moderators, and CC team members. We would like to propose the following idea as an experiment:
As of this Friday, March 23rd at 12:00 pm EST, CC will have two rooms similar to Depression and LGBTQ+/MOGII Teams:
- New Room: Compassion Corner Support
- Rebrand: Compassion Corner to Compassion Corner Chat
CC Support will be used as a pop-up room and be opened only when there is a scheduled discussion or session to be lead by moderators of the CC team.
CC Chat (current CC) will remain open 24/7 as an open-chat.
Both rooms will continue to be moderated both by community centered moderators of the CC team as well as global moderators.
As always, this is something that can change and evolve. Safety and support are always our goal and we will continue to try new ideas until we determine the best and safest option.
2) Also at 12:00 pm EST on this Friday, March 23rd, the Share Your Story room will be closed.
SYS was created to be a safe place for you to support others and share your stories. Because group support has grown and new rooms have been created, stories are being shared everywhere. This is great! We encourage you to keep sharing your experiences, challenges and triumphs throughout the community. No matter what room you visit, your story matters and deserves to be heard.
Your ideas for new rooms and subcommunities are welcome. Please let me know if there is a topic you would like to see included in group support.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns related to these updates. I will also be posting announcements within SYS and CC throughout the week to communicate with everyone who may be impacted by these changes.
Nice update! I just have a few questions:
1. Will the teen compassion corner room remain under the same name, and still only open for discussions?
2. Will the SYS Support Team be no longer a team, or will it still exist but the SYS room will be open for discussions only?

Teen CC will remain the same.
SYS will no longer be a team. The room will still exist for future discussions and sessions if there is interest.
@Kate CC was a good room until you badge locked the DCR and closed it. Now, CC is DCR, that's what happens when you try to fix good things. I dont see any sense in opening/closing any more rooms, the CC had its own positive environment which I dont think any of us will get in the so called 'Compassion Corner Support' room
@LittleFox07 CC as it is now is not going anywhere. It is not being badge locked or closed. There will just be a seperate CC room for discussions.
As I said above, this is an experiment.

Take away a positive room yet leave the negative one? I don't get it.
@mutter3 More like leave a room for the negative to go, create a second room for support sessions, and close a room which has lost its purpose. That's what I gather from the main post.

Sorry I missed this post and did a discussion yesterday in CC. I am not sure how to set up a pop up room when needed? Please help.
@adoredHug70 Hey! That's ok! You need a doorkeeper to open the CC Support Room but if you need to use the CC Chat Room (open 24/7) in the meantime that's ok. We'll get it organized and sorted out.
