Mod Communication Challenge
As discussed in today's group mod meetings, you have a challenge this week!
- Take a look at the communication styles listed above and get an idea of which of the four styles fits you best.
- Find a mod to partner with and go mod with them in a room for a half hour or an hour. Take notes on how your partner mods and communicates. Have them do the same for you and then compare notes after. Also take note of the vibe in the room. Is it a calm room? Is it high intensity and busy?
- Now repeat the same process with a different mod partner and in a different rooms.
- Once you get notes about your modding style from your mod partners, think about how your style may have changed depending on how the room was. Were you surprised? Does your communication style change depending on the situation or are you fairly consistent?
- Also take note on which communication styles you think you work better with. Do you find it easier to mod with someone who is similar to you with communicating? Or do you work better with another style so you balance one another out?

I am very focused on facts relating to the situation and typically make my decision based on a quick but thorough review of the chat, however, sometimes my personal feelings can come into the mix when making decisions which is something I need to work on. With that being said, however, I am always very relationship-orientated and try to prioritise the feelings of others within the chat.
