not being noticed
im always in same room and most of time very quiet like scared to speak up ,its even worse outside of 7 cups , the thing i dont like is one person always getting all the attention which happens often . Last week i said something to one of them and she told me to "get out ".
I take everything to heart and makes me feel very sad , everyone should be included , not just the ones who speak non stop , i dont normally say anything but wondered if other people thought the same.
@brave little smiley....sometimes it is hard to jump into the group support rooms. It almost seems like everyone is already friends in the room, BUT, overcoming that anxiety to say 'hello' or to tell your story might be part of becoming stronger. I have been in very friendly rooms were everyone talked, and I have been in rooms where I got out fast becauseit seemed as if no one else was welcomed. I guess it is a matter of not giving up. Just keep popping into the rooms. I have met way more nice people than not nice. Hope to see you in the chat rooms!
I've had that experience, too. Don't make a big deal of it. If you enter a chatroom, watch for a minute what they're talking about. If you'd like to participate, simply type hi. If nobody answers, don't give a s**t, just move on to another room. It seems like nobody really cares about the room names. So you might as well find another room where you're welcome. After all, the world needs brave people ![]()
Yes! This is why I searched for another way to get support than the method I was using before. I was in a group (not here) and it was great at first but then I started noticing a clique forming. I gave up pretty much right then and there. I'm not in high school so I don't want to deal with "besties". I'm like you IRL, quiet, shy, don't know the first thing to say. I'm more open on ther internet because of the anonymity. I suggest just leaving the snobs to themselves. :-)
