Introduction and Welcome:

Hello everyone and welcome to our first room supporter meeting. My name is Paws and I am the Room Supporter Lead for the teen and adult room supporters. My goal is to support you as room supporters and encourage anyone interested in learning more about the role.

Please tell me the name of the team or teams you represent as a room supporter. What qualities do you think make a great room supporter?

1. Being kind, respectful, approachable, considerate and observant.

2. Being personable and compassionate as well

Room Supporter Updates:

Starting in September 2021, adult room support listeners are required to host at least 1 hour per team per month. Teens and members are required to host at least 30 minutes per team per month. Are there any questions about the hosting requirements?

We talked about the minimum hosting requirements as mentioned above. However, each team may have different needs for room supporters so it is best to check with team leaders for questions regarding those needs.

In order to receive the credit you deserve for being an active host, you will need to set the banner before you start your discussion. Has everyone had the opportunity to set the banner for a discussion?

1. Unanimous: Yes

2. Question: What about if you set a banner for someone else? Or if a mod sets your banner? Answer: If someone else sets the banner, be sure they include your name in the co-host area so that you can get credit for participation. Same thing if you are setting the banner for someone else.

3. Question: Is there somewhere where we can see whether we have completed our time for the month? Answer: Not at this time. It's up to you to track your time as a host.

4. Question: Is there a tracking sheet to log discussions? Answer: No. Your activity will be recorded by setting the banner to start your discussion/session.

Group Support recently introduced a Room Supporter request form. The purpose of the form is to invite available room supporters to join a room for chit chat, host or co-host a discussion, and be present in a group support room. 1. Question: Will the room supporter request form soon be noted in the chatroom roles section? Answer (From CheeryMango): From my understanding, they are observing to see how well used the form is before they consider adding it to the chatroom rules.

AMA:

1. Clarification requested about the role of GSML. What are the quotas and requirements for GSMLs, who they report to, and how they differ from Chatroom Mentor Leaders.

   1. Answer: GSMLs oversee different aspects of Group Support. Each has goals specific to their roles. All report to Obs.

2. Question: Additional support regarding information requested about the ‘personal projects’ portion of the QM application. Answer: Questions about QM application can be answered by Evelynerose or Mango3.

3. Question: Who to contact if you are having issues with the transition to the adult side of Cups? Answer: You can reach out to a transition coach or mentor for additional support.

4. Clarification: Setting up an e mail account specifically for 7 Cups is not required but many prefer having an account specifically for their work at Cups to preserve anonymity. If you choose to create a separate e mail account, one way to set it up is use part of your cups username as a first and last name. (Ex. First name Peace, Last name loveandpaws7cups)

Conclusion:

Our team meetings will be held bi-weekly. For the 4th quarter, all meetings will be held at 9 am ET for adults and 11 am ET for teens. Our next team meeting will be October 26th.
