Heyo Wonderful Members of the 7 Cups Community!

Recently, I was speaking to a few people about food - lets just say this topic is common on 7 Cupswink We were talking about what everyone likes to cook, and what they eat reguarly. That is when I noticed - I have no idea how to cook surprise

I realise a few others here may be in the same situation as me, and I thought maybe seeing as we have lots of people who love to cook - we could share our cooking tips, and maybe a few recipes/easy things to make! This would be super helpful to myself, and I know others in the community would love it too! It may help us pick up a few things we aren't familiar with!cheeky

I look forward to hearing some below hehe!

New here. cooking is all I do, wish I had people to teach things to. I am mainly plant based now but used to be a personal cook.

tip: when letting bread rise, if I don't have a warm spot, I heat water in microwave, or kettle, and then the microwave is heated up or if no microwave, use the kettled hot water in a bowl and place in oven with bread bowl, oven off.

1) Be patient with yourself! Rome wasnt built in a day. :)

2) Pinterest (Food and Drink) is your friend.

3) Dont be afraid to reach out to friends and family for cherished recipes!

I'd say that cooking is really fun only if you have all the right appliances. Sadly, I don't so when you are about to cook something you have a ton of problems to solve and it ruins all the fun. Saved some money and want to buy at least a good cooktop now and maybe you guys could Check these cooktops and give me an advise? That's the first time I buy something like this so I am a bit confused.

Personally.... I make cooking easy and cook mostly the same things fish in the oven, jacket potatoes and chips, chicken and what ever else I get reduced here in the UK we have meat and other products that are going out on date and you can buy them cheap. Which is great if your able to get your hands on them! I usually wait about for the ticket person to put thickets on and then grab what I can. People can get quite nasty if you get more than they do. Once or twice I have said well... To be honest if it was any other part of the shop you'd not have a problem so why this Isle? Anyways it gives me a great selection of different things I wouldn't normally buy and with the meat or ready meals I can just freeze so sell by dates don't bother me it's just what I can fit in the freezer.

I like cooking but I never have much time for it. So my advice will be to start with sth easy and quick. The best recipes are to cook in oven. You just pickle or even just salt and pepper meet/fish/veggies and put everything into the oven and receive a tasty dish.

The most important hack that I discovered for myself is that you need to free up more space for cooking and make the kitchen as functional as possible. We recently ordered all the cabinets and accessories for the new design and made the cabinets roomy, rationally located and now I don't need to look for something while cooking, the most important thing is always at hand.
