Alright time to answer the age-old question.

Is Tomato a fruit? or a vegetable.

Tbh idk, I just know that I can make a jam out of it.

So here is the methodology to JAM a tomato

You will require

  1. 1 Kg Tomatoes but those Plump ones.
  2. 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar.
  3. 1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger.
  4. 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar
  5. 1 teaspoon of salt.
  6. 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin.
  7. 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika.
  8. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes.

Instructions

Combine all the ingredients in a Dutch oven.
Place the tomatoes, sugar, vinegar, ginger, salt, cumin, paprika, and red pepper flakes in a 3 to 4 Litres Dutch oven. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon.

Simmer the jam until thickened, about 2 hours. Yeah, slow and steady wins the race.
Reduce the heat to medium and gently boil, stirring occasionally, until thick and jammy, about 2 hours. You'll know it's done when you scrape a spoon across the bottom of the pot and no liquid fills in the path.

Refrigerate the tomato jam.
Divide the jam between 2 canning jars (You pick the size, don't be lazy and leave everything to me). Cool, then seal and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
