Hello friends,

In this thread we talk about if or not MP is needed for FPS to be good or not? and heres the reason why

so friends, while watching this video

https://youtu.be/VtmDiRwZ9jI

heres the 4A games explain that why Metro doesnot have MP. why? because it doesnot needed, nor they want to do so they can make another generic MP game instead of concentrating on excellent SP.

the point its its a myth that Good FPS need MP. they dont imo. i have been playing FPS since long long time. Im FPS junkie, and thats 90 percent of games i play to this date. but i realize that MP is not all that important. even thought they sell well but still not.

throughout the history i have seen more better SP FPS than MP FPS. not saying all MP games are bad. Counter strike was and is still fantastic to this date but games like COD and BF getting stale.

what do you think friends? do you really think good FPS need MP? or not?

lets discuss

@Jefferymoor

In my honest opinion, facing off against bots get boring really quickly, I like the idea of actually having ramdom chance in FPS games... Bots are predictable, real players aren't. And plus, almost every FPS on the market will more than likely have a multiplayer option or one that's being tested.

Online games are the best in my opinion. I love the competition, and the modding community does wonders. I wouldn't be able to play an FPS without multiplayer and not get bored. I used to get with my buddies at school and we'd a LAN party. We'd just start up Halo and just have some fun.

@Jefferymoor FPS is a genre that is among the most skill-based, which means there should be competition against real players.

I don't personally think that an FPS game needs MP in order to be good. There are plenty examples of that out there. Some people aren't looking for an online experience to truely put their skills to the test. There is satisfaction that comes from just being good at the flow of a SP game, even if the bots are predictable. SP games have more story, more fleshing out of the characters, more involvement into choices and the world around your character. MP games focus more on the combat and skill required to best someone.

I know me personally, I'm not always in the mood for that, and in fact, I've really been turned away from FPS MP games in recent years. Some people lock themselves in a room for 7 days a week, 365 days a year and commit to that game. I don't game that often any more, I put in a few days a week. How do you think I stack up to those guys? I'm not saying it's wrong for them to spend that much time, it's just not fun when you are at the bottom of the score list and getting whacked off a few seconds after spawing back in.

I'd much rather play a co-op MP game or a really good SP FPS and dive into and get lost in the story.
