Does anyone else love the gym?

I love the gym so much, it's hard to think about your problems when you're trying to pull 250lbs lol. Everyone pretty much leaves me alone, it gives me like 2 hours a day to discover new music, it feels awesome being able to move a whole room's worth of furniture with ease. Its one of the best feelings getting a new personal record on a lift.

Only downsides are as a woman it's even harder to build muscle, so after a year of hard work I'm built like middle school boy that has never touched a weight lol. Anyone that says women shouldn't lift heavy because they'll get "bulky" is lying, it is SO hard to get bulky, it ain't gonna happen on accident. Also on days when the lifts arent going how I planned it suckssssss but the good days make up for it

@joemamama

As a gym goer myself this post relates so much. I am a male so I do know the differences between the male vs female experiences of gymming, but there's this universal peace that you get going to the gym. I can't think about my problems or my life issues when I'm trying to reach a PR on the bench, also I can drown myself and the surroundings with my playlists. It's honestly therapy for me mentally and physically especially since I'm super tired by the end of it and ready to crash after I eat dinner.

@joemamama

totally with you on this one. I have always been fit but my girlfriend broke up with me today three weeks ago so I started powerlifting and boxing the next day. It is a great escape.

oh And don’t worry about your shape as long as you’re fit. A lot of men like gym girls with strong bodies but not too muscular bodies.

@joemamama I wish I could. Been meaning to get back to cycling, myself... Even with iffy joints, I can log miles on the old beater. Fortunately, summer is coming.

I used to go thr gym 4 - 5 days a week. It was a big part of my life and I absolutely loved it. Then, for various reasons, about 5 years ago I stopped going. However, I joined a gym close to where I now live earlier today. I plan to go tomorrow and I can't wait to get back into the routine of training regularly.
