What's something you find invigorating, inspiring, or just plain motivational that pushes you to do better?

@lovelypen

Hey Lovely :)

That's a really good question that you've asked there!

I think what I find invigorating is just reflecting on how much control I have over a situation and using that as an impetus to take action.

For instance, if I'm feeling unproductive, I remind myself that I have the power to choose what to do with my free time. I'll then search up opportunities that are in line with my interests and that allow me to use my core strengths. For me, these are often volunteering-opportunities because I love helping others and find great fulfillment in doing so.

Hope this makes sense 😄

Trying to find ways to better myself in anyway

getting more exercise

learning a new hobby

making someone else’s day better

watching a new movie

cooking something new

washing my face with some cool new products

learning about a new culture

being open to new possibilities even if it goes against something inside

hmm pretty much anything…

just being open to new possibilities and improvements, looking at my life and my self and my goals my relationships and analyzing where things are good and where things can get better and how to make them better

When I procrastinate which I don’t do often, I just ask myself how is doing it later helping me? And if it is helping me like maybe I am cranky and should refrain from interacting with a certain human until I am in a better mood well then - yes do it later. However if I am just putting off something I know I should be doing well - it’s not helping me if said thing is still waiting to be done, so just do it and get it over with.

or if it’s something like not getting daily exercise- wanting to skip a walk - I just ask myself if I don’t do it will I be happy or sad with my decision? If I know I can do it - well then make it happen. Or feel regret. The choice is yours.

I feel like motivation and inspiration are two different things.

to feel motivated I do what I said above.

to feel inspired I do things that make me happy or make other happy. I find ways to connect - usually through music or my church or walks in nature or explore something new that leaves me with some kind of feeling that can inspire me or move me to do other things- like your poetry or make art or whatever it is.

Also I like to have people who inspire me so when I am feeling down or low I would ask myself what would this super cool human do?

maybe it’s a celebrity or an author or a human in real life (I don’t have many of those lol)

and just ask yourself what would your hero do? How would they act in this situation? And then proceed accordingly.

or sometimes being surrounded by people you don’t like can also inspire this.

for example, I don’t like how temperamental and mean my dad is so it inspires me to always be kind.

watch others doing what I want to do. Many others. I realize I can do that better, in my own way
