How do I befriend crows
I really like crows and decided to act on that recently, did some research, and went to a store and bought (unshelled unsalted) peanuts. I don't know where the crows in my area are exactly but it is winter so they'll come out more in the spring I hope. I'm excited to start, any tips?
it helps to have a crow call n call them too you or if you find then landed just toss peanuts in there direction itll take a while but its definitely worth it!

I watched a couple yt videos and I also read an article that was like specific sequences of caws mean certain things? and before I even got more excited about this stuff I would often caw back at crows when I was a bit younger and to this day, hah! I oftenn see some hanging out on wires at my school after my dnd club on wensdays so I hope I'll see them next week!
@LonleyCheese yeah the caw patterns do have meaning like "i found food" "danger" "come here" ect its fun yo use my crow call to communicate with the crows!
@LonleyCheese Crows are wonderful and ravens are as well. I read that they are super intelligent. There are several where I live and I too thought of feeding them. HOWEVER I also read that you can harm them if you feed them. Preservatives, insecticides, etc. that you may be able to tolerate may be harmful or deadly to them.
@hopefulPond6108 That's probably true, but I went to the petstore and got some peanuts meant for like wild birds so I think it will be okay. And I know not to feed them bread and stuff. If I ever want to give them something I will reaserch it well before I do
thanks for looking out for the birdos though. I still haven't seen any crows yet and my friend ate some of the peanuts (2) lol.
@LonleyCheese I really understand why you want to befriend them, but I think there may be a host of other reasons not to feed them. Like this
@hopefulPond6108 I read through it and it still seems okay to feed them a little bit, and the "humans are easier to train" gave me a laugh. But as long as I'm not feeding them a lot or junk/trash, then it really should be fine.

Oooh this sounds exciting!! I hope you get to befriend some crows, they're beautiful birds and incredibly intelligent. There are a lot of crows where I live, as well as jackdaws. Always seem friendly enough, and very curious. The Robins where I live are very curious and friendly too 🐦
@hopefulPond6108 I saw a video of them, but not the article! Thanks for sharing it with me! I will let you guys know what happens but so far I still can't find any crows! Well, at a convinient time anyway, I saw some outside while I was in class but by the end they had moved on.
