Working out - body weight training (Calisthenics)

July 11th, 2016

Hi! I have done calisthenics for over a year now, and I feel that anyone who wants to get physically and mentally better, should practice some kind of hobbies/activity. In the beginning I was a really skinny boy who wasn't secure about himself at all. And I found out about working out and getting physically active, and I loved it.

I sometimes felt really depressed because of issues in school, family, relationships, etc.. And I'm sure you must have felt too at least once. Working out not only calms you, but also makes you happy! (prepare for sciency-talk) When you workout, the body releases a molecule called "dopamine" which is the one responsible for making you feel happy. Not only that, but working out makes you sleep better, be more focused during the day, gives you more energy in the long run, and well obviously... makes you physically better.

I won't lie that in the beginning it feels hard, maybe too hard. You want to give up and stop working out. I will tell you this again and again, no one is a fitness-robot which has unlimited willpower. If you have a goal in mind, it will be much harder to lose focus.

If anyone wants more information, workout plans, tips on starting, or really just talk, let me know in the inbox. ;)

Peace, and let the gainz begin!

@FormedDrip

It's well known that physical actvity can increase endorphines released by the brain, as well as participating in something you enjoy. Congratulations for finding something you enjoy as much as this, and feel this can improve you as a person, inside and out. Keep up the good work!!!
