Art/Drawing- My mental escape
I'd like to hear how art has helped you through your life and/or how it's been influenced by it. Share your art too if you'd like, I'd love to see it. I've struggled with depression for years and years and I found at a young age that I was always better at drawing my emotions out rather than expressing or explaining them. Depression isn't always something you can physically see. It digs into your mind and becomes this silent killer. Art keeps me from letting that happen. I take those feelings out of the deepest parts of my mind and move them into the physical world. Right there, in front of me. It cant dig any deeper into my mind because I gave it a face. I can look it in the eyes, see it for what it is, and do whatever I'd like with it. The pencil in my hand has given me a leash for my mind. My sorrow leaks into every stroke, the paper photographing the invisible chaos inside my head. I know it's real. And it won't control me anymore. Depression will fuel the ink in these pens, but not how I will live.

art saved me from self harm alot of times when i couldnt verbaly express my feelings i showed it throught pictures
I love drawing too. I do mostly fan art, but I'm too embarrassed to draw about my feelings.
I love art, drawing, writing, photography... Although I'm not very good at drawing, I like drawing little sketches or just trying to improve my skills whenever I can. Journaling gives me the opportunity to enjoy all my hobbies, so I'm thinking about creating a worldwide journaling club. I love journaling, as I think it's an incredible way to become more artistic and creative.
If you like the idea, here's the post where I talk about it: https://www.7cups.com/forum/Hobbies_125/ArtsCrafts_641/WorldwideJournalingClub_65965/
I absolutely LOVE your post :D it is so original and I can relate to it in every way. I'm not the greatest artist in the world but drawing has helped me express anger and depression and sadness so many times...I can't thank it enough x3 thank you for writing this post. It is truly a remarkable piece of art.
