Struggling with hobbies due depression and studies...
Since 2015 I can't aproach hobbies as I did before. My anxiety at the time got very bad. Nowdays my anxiety is somehow manageable , however my depression is massive and I also have ALOT of stuff to study from uni.
I used to read alot and write, in fact my dream is to become an author. However I haven't read since 2015... my skill is non-existent right now..
I've tried picking up some romantic books since I'm a romantic person, however nothing captivates me. Is always some mediocre romance with cliches, or a very poorly written fantasy romance... I can't find a solid romance with a realistic relationship or at least good written solid characters.
I would love to find some medieval romance, some sci fi, and even horror (but not super graphic, I mean more in suspense).
Does anyone have any tips here? How to find books like I mentioned but also how to find motivation? How do you do your hobbies when you're so depressed? And how do you do your hobbies with so many responsabilities?
Have you tried knitting as a hobby? It can be done in small intervals and is relaxing.

I can relate to not practicing hobbies due to anxiety and depression...I was an English Literature major who read non-stop in highschool, but I developed so much brain fog from my mood disorder and other health issues that reading is sometimes nearly impossible for me. It's frustrating to not be able to do things that you used to enjoy, and things that you identify with being a part of you. Try not to focus on what you aren't able to do at the moment...maybe there is a hobby that would help you to attend to your environment that you could enjoy. @amiableSea620 's suggestion of knitting is a really good one. I started doing this to keep my hands busy and my mind off of ruminating.
I wish you the best, let us know how you're doing!
