Hi Fristo!

I have an unending abundance of books I love, but I’ll just mention five for now.

Flower Crowns & Fearsome Things by Amanda Lovelace

Dancing Through Life In A Pair of Broken Heels: Extremely Short Stories for the Totally Stressed by Mickey Guisewite

Love Looks Pretty On You by Lang Leav

The Way Back Home by Courtney Peppernell

My Bookstore: Writers Celebrate Their Favorite Places to Browse, Read and Shop by a variety of authors

And a bonus…it technically never finished because sadly the author passed away before its completion, but still, let’s not forget

Tintin and Alph-Art by Hergé

I love the Percy Jackson series. Its honestly a comfort series for me haha. It's easy to get lost in the fantasy world and just spend hours reading. I guess that's what I like about books. It's like a mini fantasy world playing out all in your head.

I see several Harry Potter bids and I am right there with you! Also Lord of the Rings. I think though, the ultimate strange comfort for me comes from the world of Haruki Murakami, his prose is just so…calming. I’m not sure how to say it, it’s like every word is a neat little pebble arranged in a zen garden.

The works of George Saunders also touch deep goodness and childlike love for life the way Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings do, but in a very different way.

if I had to pick one book to turn to for comfort though, one book only to read and reread for the rest of my life? Hmm…In Love With the World by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, because it’s so helpful and instructive, while teaching mindfulness in a way that is so accessible.

Harry Potter is my comfort read. I always listen to them when I'm struggling with stuff. I'm on my second listen-through of the month 🙃

I have never read the same book more than once except for the purpose of study.
