A Love Letter

Letting go is never easy. I was tempted to post this on Facebook, but decided I shouldn't. So I just posted it here in the General Entries section, I hope it's okay.

"Today, I realized that love is not about owning and it is never about coercion. It is not about reciprocation or any sort of 'give and take' method. I realized, the truest form of love is love that freely gives. Love that knows freedom. Love that learns to let go. Love that does not expect anything in return. I realized that, like in the song I used to know - and now I have finally understood - that 'when you love someone you need to learn to let them go'. Some say it is unconditional love, like the one mother's have for her children. So, this must be it. To love you exceedingly that all I can ever ask is for you to be happy. Maybe not with me, maybe with someone else, but remember that I loved you enough to set you free. That your happiness is much more important that mine. That I love you enough to want you to be happy. Just don't forget that, for once, I existed in a chapter of your life, and that I love you."
