Created this account when I was 14. I'm 20 now.
i don't really know where i'm going with this. i turned 20 a few days ago. i haven't used this account in ages but i have nowhere else to turn to, so i guess i'm back to square one again. i'm still depressed and struggling with the same issues as when i was 14. i'm unhappy and my life feels meaningless. i want to give up. i'm tired. i'm sick of trying. i have no real friends who care about me and im lonely. i dont know what to do. ive struggled with self harm for years and i recently relapsed again. i'm sorry if i'm doing this thread wrong, i'm not sure how it works and i'm a bit tipsy. i'm really sorry this is post is so depressing.
@GobiBear Hi Gobi. I totally understand how you feel. I just joined this site—I'm 30, and started experiencing depression around 14-15. I had a bad episode in my early 20s, thought I got better, and am now deeply depressed again. I'm doing everything I can to get better, but it's exhausting. My symptoms have changed a lot as I've gotten older, too.
I remember when I was 22 and felt like I'd be like this forever. I feel that way now. But what gives me hope is that I did overcome the self-harm urges once before, and I went on to find some personal successes and even have a serious relationship for a time. It's possible to get better...right? When I'm in the thick of it, it's hard to see how far I've come.
Hi gobi. I have also been depressed since i was 13 -14. I will be 30 soon. I am still heavily depressed and underconfident.
But i have learned one thing for sure i am not depressed because there is some fault in me, i am depressed because i was made to feel worthless, and not that because i was worthless.
So stay strong and keep moving. Its not your fault if you are depressed.
