Fan Dumbed-Down

I am annoyed. You see, I don't really take a liking to marriage and children at all. I don't like being tied down to people and being a servant to tiny beings. That being said, I follow a lot my favorite singers, authors, and actors on instagram. In the last 5 pr so years, so many have gotten engaged, married, and had children much to my annoyance. Their once cool instas went from behind the scenes photos and rehearsal videos to mommy blogging. I swear, marraige and kids ruin other wise awesone, cool people. I'd hate to unfollow them because I have been a fan for soooooo long. Some even have given me likes, replies, and reblogs of the fandom related activity I have tagged them in. Some have remembered me from when I used to go to meet and greets at cons. Then all this "family life" stuff happens to them and now their kids and babies and husbands/wives hog all their media timeline. I'm sorry, I feel so put out by their new lifestyles. There used to be a time where fans used to matter to them. We can't relate to them anymore. We don't see the hip, awesome fun person they used to be. I hate feeling like I don't matter to them.

@RhineStarr Well, you know what? No matter what, fans always matter to them. But their life is not just about fans all the time; they need their own space too... they also have people whom they love and care... they really really do care about ordinary people who are their fans... no offense, but you gotta admit one thing: You love what you love and it is human nature to obsess over them...

come to think of it, for example, if you were to be a celebrity, then would you not post happy bday wishes for your child/boyfriend/girlfriend/family's or any of your loved one's on social media? won't you want people to know that the person you love is having their birthday and won't you want to share with your fans how much that person matters to you?

the fact that we even get to know how much good heart they have is that they care about their family and posts about them on social media.

but yeah.... it takes time for hard core fans like us to accept that. i agreee with you.

@gwenPhoenix004

Well, yes, if I had such a public outlet I just might want to celebrate someone I cared about publicly. However, if I knew that it made my followers uncomfortable and uneasy, I just might make a seperate account for "work stuff" filled with book excerpts or behind the scenes photos from set or music previews. That way those only interested in my artistic career can follow me without being bogged down by outside stuff.

I would love to say something about them not including family and kids stuff in their instas, but then that will make me look like the bad guy. I want them to still like me. I just hate that they are practically rubbing the happy, fortunate lives of their children in our faces without reguard for our feelings. We feel like we are their family too.

And I don't want to unfollow them beuase I have following them for sooooooooo long. A few have reblogged, shared, replied to me in the many fandom things I tag them in on my own twitter and insta. Some till remember me from when I go and see them at cons from previous years.

There was this one incident in which I was in line at a con in my area, about 7 or so turns away from meeting said guest. we all were psyched. Then from her autograph table the guest suddenly goes "No freaking WAY!" as she gets up abruptly and all but leaves her table heads to a lady and a young girl, I guess about 15 or so years old, behind us a few parties. Guest grabs both lady and girl in her arms and hugs them. Guest announces that Girl is someone she used to nanny when she was a toddler (OK, um, how come none of us die hard fans never knew she was Nanny. As far as I knew, she's been an actress all her life.) and Lady was her aunt. There was some quick chit chat between them as the rest of us all but fell over cause she was like, RIGHT THERE, and then she pulled the Girl and Lady aside back to her signing area, muttered some stuff to a person in a con tee shirt who took them aside and exclaimes to the rest of the line "They came to surprise me! I wanna cry!" Talk about a punch in the gut! Not to just me, but all of us in the vicinity. I wanted to just to leave right then and there, but I already bought my meet and greet ticket. So I just just held myself together for the autograph, chatted about her work, and took a cool selfie. Afterwards I just scurried to the nearest bathroom and just started crying. I felt like I didn't know her at all! How was this nanny thing only being revealed to us at that moment? When did she even find time to be a nanny?

I also might add that the day after this incident, she posted a selfie of herself and Lady and Girl at a popular shopping/entertainment venue in town. So that meant she stayed an extra day AFTER the con to be with them! I been tempted to do a reverse image search on the photo to see the Girl or Lady had a Facebook I can contact them in. But what would I say without looking too stalkerish? It would be so cool to make friends with the young girl or to meet with her and ask questions about what is was like with ___ as her nanny.

I understand that celebrities and such need personal time, but why must they broadcast it? It just seems so "rub in your face". All about their happy lives with their kids and wives and husbands and whatever. It's hard to watch that when you don't have family as loyal as theirs. I follow them to escape reality. To dream about movie sets and book parties and album launch parties - NOT to see how little Belinda and Brianna are studing ballet at their home studio or how many books your 11 year old can read in a week. Great your kiddos have that privilege! Not all of us can have private dance teachers. I honestly want to hate all those kids and see em drown in a flood, but then I'd be the bad guy. Then the parents will mourn, be sad and might not want to post stuff anymore. And I want them to post stuff, just nothing about kids!

Oh great, now one of them is now guest starring as a coach for a child talent on this international kids talent show. I'm sorry, what is the point of such shows than to make shy, anxious, people feel bad about themselves? To rub it in that they were not child prodigies? Why must we reward people for having superior luck and supportive parents who clearly shape them from birth to have these singing or dancing talents? Why doesn't anyone ever do anything for those who are self concious and have moms and dads who are not there for them? I'd think we need the support far more than a kid born with pure luck. I'm hating my favorite celebrities more and more these days. All I have left to follow are Disney and cat instagrams if I take away all the stars I follow.

People just need to stop having kids. That's all I can say right now. Just stop it. Not everyone thinks children are precious beings. I certainly do not oogle at babies nor smile at beings under the age of 7. They are a menace to what is awesome and cool. Maybe if they were teens I could enjoy them more. They are human like that. But lemme nix you if you try to push anything under the age of 7 into my life. I Wish all you mommy types and mama bears the worst in life.

I swear, there is no more of a blissful life than a child in a pediatic unit. I mean, imagine being a little kid treated like a tiny royal with servants bringing you every need and never having to raise your head off a pillow. And if you need something, your service comes to YOU! I looked up Lollipop Theater that one of my star friends supports and I just can't believe how all those lucky those hospitalized children are as they get box office movies be brought into them insiead of going to a theater. I have a very hard time to thonk of these children as anything BUT suffering. I have always envied sick children. All my life it was my goal to be sick enough to go and live at the St.Jude hospital because it's like living in a kiddyland vacation nirivana. One person says the kids never cry there because it is so happy and everyone bends over backwards to ensure their comfort and pleaure because they are sick. The only time the cry is when they have to go home and leave it all behind. Oh, and they appear to get celebrity vists all the time! I mean really?! I just don't get it. I just hate my life at times when little sick children live out the fantasy life I've long for myself. I have aged out of pediatic anything years and years ago, so I truly resent my missed oppertunity. Welcome to my bland, bored, adult life.
