I'm not going anywhere

This is a poem I wrote about how I've been feeling lately.

I'm Not Going Anywhere

A breath they're here

A breath they're gone

They never stay for very long

Come and go

Just like before

Sifting through revolving doors

An empty room

A silent place

They all left without a trace

They said they'd stay

They said they'd care

"I'm not going anywhere"

Wow. I can definitely relate to this poem. I think you hit it on the head how I'm feeling right now, which is kinda lonely. Thanks MickeyKat.

Thank you for appreciating it. I find when I write poetry I get a better understanding of my feelings. For instance, this particularpoem is about being abandoned and alone. However, as I wrote it I noticed hints of bitterness flecked inside the words.

That's a good way to look at it. I like that.

I enjoy this poem a lot. I think it benefits from its simplicity. There's a feeling that even through writing this poem not much is being accomplished, that the futility of the human condition still remains evenin its creative moments. I hope that in your future you'll find someone special who will "stay". Thank you for sharing.
