Have to violate my lease and screw over my roomate because I lost my income. I feel like this will have dire consequences and my heart and sense of being won’t recover. I feel like I am a bad person. I feel so guilty

I'm sorry you have to deal with this :( it's a really tough spot to be in but it sounds like its something that's beyond your control. With losing your income - I dont think that that's something anyone really can plan for. Maybe if you talk to your roommate they'd be willing to work with you until you can find other work? Maybe until then you could take care of around the house or apartment? Sort of like earning your keep until another job comes along? I wouldnt wait too long to talk with your roommate though - they'll probably take it better if it's not last minute but that's just my opinion

I hope things work out for you

be open about it to your roommate. It’s not a shame to lose your job, but it’s a shame to not give your roommate a fair warning.
