My musical struggle
Hello, I am a 16 year old jazz pianist. I practice, play and listen for hours and hours every day because this is the only thing that makes me feel happy. I’d like to pursue jazz as a career, but due to all this practicing I have developed an extremely severe case of tendinitis in both my arms, wrists and hands.
It’s gotten to the point where it hurts to do most things, including play piano. This has put me in a very rough spot because now I can’t play and I am feeling extremely depressed.
I have seeked all the help I can get and nothing is working. I went to physical therapy, I went to physiotherapy, I’ve worked with countless piano teachers, I’ve tried to talk to friends and family but nothing helps and nobody understands.
I feel completely hopeless. People are constantly asking me to play for them because I’m one of the only pianists in my area, and I feel so guilty that I won’t be able to anymore. I wanted to do this as a career but now I feel that my life will amount to nothing.
I’m so blue. I can’t do the one thing I love to do and I wish I could help myself but nothing works. At this point I just need someone to talk to.

I'm really sorry to hear this.
It's clear your passion is music.
And it must be heartbreaking to be in pain and not being able to play, and for people to not understand that 💛
I genuinely hope in time , and with a break and time to heal, you might be able to play again.
