Persuading partner to go to a therapy
Recently I and my partner having a rough time. We have been together for 5 years. We have each other mental health issue, I was depressed because of family trauma, The last 1 year, I went to therapy, learning CBT, journaling, mindfulness, and other mental health tools. He has his own issue mostly about childhood abandonment. Last month we went to a couple counselor after a big fight, and the counselor mentioned that my partner also needs to go to a therapy himself. The counselor said it's kinda unbalanced if I'm only the one who take effort to heal. Before this, I've recommend therapy to my partner as well. But everytime I asked him about this, he cuts it off. While, I only remind him like every 2 weeks or once a month. Do I need to stop persuade him? Or is anyone know the best way to persuade a partner to go to a therapy? Thanks a lot.
