Thanks for making us feel like idiots
Look.
Can you please stop talking to us like were idiots or something? I get it. You have an engineering degree. You know what you're doing. You have knowledge we don't. I get that. But getting irritated with us and saying it's not that hard or it's not rocket science does not freaking help us. None of us have ever touched a milling machine, or a lathe, or a drill press before. We have minimal knowledge of tools and other subjects. But that's why we are in this program is to learn more about it.
Yeah. We went through end mill bits like crazy. We made a lot of mistakes. We needed instructions repeated to us. You're frustrated. But you know what? So are we. Because we're trying our damn hardest to keep up in this class. I've spent hours in the lab practicing on the mill, only to keeping jacking my project up. And I only now found out what I was doing wrong because you told us in a very condescending manner.
It's your class. You're the instructor. Your rules. Fine then. But for fucks sake, can you try and be patient with us? Please? Cause some of us are struggling hard right now keeping up. I've never set foot in a technical field up until I entered this program, so please don't assume we will automatically pick up on everything.
@Nick8876
I just want to say you and your colleagues are like saints.
People who are full of themselves are the worst. Your teacher spent years studying that area, of course will be easy for him. Is rather unfair to demand so much in little time.
So sorry you're going through that.
@Booklover95 every part of my being wanted to say to hell with this and walk out last night. I'm in a good apprenticeship program at work at that's only because of the program I'm in.
I'll be honest, I'm not passionate about school or what I study. The only thing I really care about is securing work so I can move out and be my own person. There's a part of me that wants to just drop this whole thing and go travel in the desert or something.
But I've come too far to give up. I just don't have it in me to give up on this.
@Nick8876
Do you think part of how you feel might influenciate how you feel about your teacher too?
@Booklover95 not sure. I mean, it's an interesting program with multiple subjects, I have a really good teacher for my other classes who's also our program coordinator, but overall, I just don't like school. I've been stuck in school for 4 years when I should have been done already. Switching to a different program since I was miserable in my old one.
