The Power of Words
At least a decade ago, I was in front of the best high school in the region. I scan from top to bottom and found my name on the top 100. Out of 2000+ students, I was the top 100.
Satisfied, I walk out. On the bridge connection the school's gate to the main road, someone I knew stand there. He was from my school and bullied a lot. He came to me with hands interlocked, ruminating, anxious. "Hick, did you NOT made it?" he asked. He was afraid. I probably was his only friend.
"I did. I am the top 100! What about you?" His answer was shorter than "no," I, without thinking, tapped his back and said, "Don't worry. Maybe this isn't your place."
I never knew, but that sentence, that glib, 6 worded sentence etched into his soul and became his raison d'etre.
He told me that, on his way to the best university in the country. He's a lecturer there, living my dream.
He isn't the only person I have saved with mere words alone. I have saved two, at least those are who reached out to me.
Thus so, ladies and gentlemen, here are the only rule you ever need in conversation: If your next sentence isn't nice nor useful, shut it. If it is so, by all the things that is holy, say it!
Have you ever experienced something like mine? Add it down below!
I was told yesterday by someone here, that they stayed because of me. <3 That warmed my heart <3
