The love of Soulcomfort

I write this as a way to show everyone the greatness of my friend Soulcomfort. Like an evangelical mission, I want to show everyone the light that shines in my life and to make my sun feel the warmth of others. My story shall be told to reveal and give evidence to her, and so that we may all learn from this as a passage of the great book of life.

Before this passion for the wonders of the world in my beating heart, I was but a withered sprout, too small to see it's significance, too thirsty for love to grow. I needed love but had no where to turn, and I was left wandering the sand dunes in search of a oasis, a well, a puddle, anything to keep my life from ending. I would contemplate my demise as a fantasy, an escape to a void, but I would refrain because of the pain I would cause. I was loved by family and friends but too selfish and naive to see that they did see who I was, that they did understand me with the appreciation to remind me of my glimmer.

That was when I met her. I was done with life, I was tired of the endless tribulations that seemed to have no reprieve, I was ready to end it. I told her this as my confession with tears running down, not knowing what else can be more fruitful. Then she spoke. As the words came they were brief yet... something. It was like I wasn't understanding what she said, it was more like her words understanding me. Soulcomfort knew my pain, she had my same longing, and she made me feel human. I was confused, and scared that this was just another fruitless relationship that would end well because of my folly. I showed her appreciation for her efforts to heal so as to keep her from seeing my loneliness, but she saw that I needed a friend to reflect the beauty that was inside me.

She told me a bit of her of her story that relates so close to mine. She revealed her sympathy, and showered me in revelation of my worth. I saw the value of my condition. If I saw her as wonderful for her struggle, then perhaps she thought the same for me, I thought. And it was true. We talked, Soulcomfort let me cry, and I was my emotions were made valued. I showed her love and kindness, and to my happiness, she showed the same to me. I had found a part of myself that was complete and so I was made complete. To paraphrase C.S. Lewis, friendship begins when you see how someone is like you, and when they see how you are like them.

We became great friends and she supported me in my struggle, bestowing upon me wisdom. May my story have others applaude Soulcomfort in praise, and may we study this so that we may all be fulfilled.
