Velvet in Moonlight
As the moon spilled its silver through the cathedral windows, it painted the stone floor with a delicate, calming light. The air, carrying the faint scent of rain on old wood, and the candles I had lit hours ago, still flickering with life, created a peaceful ambiance. The night, deep and almost fathomless, felt warm and inviting, a cradle for my thoughts rather than a void to fall into.
Earlier, I strolled in the garden, where the black roses were in full bloom. Their petals, drenched in the day’s storm, shimmered like onyx, and the droplets clung to my fingers when I caressed them. It struck me how even in the darkest shade, beauty can radiate so brightly. It was a moment that made me feel less alone in my shadows, surrounded by the serene tranquility of the garden.
There is music tonight — the soft hum of the wind through the ivy, the steady rhythm of my heartbeat, the faint creak of the old oak as if the house itself is breathing along with me. I think I am in love with this stillness, this gentle solitude that does not ache, but wraps around me like a velvet cloak.
The world outside may be noisy, hurried, and unkind, but here in my candlelit sanctuary, I am smiling. Not wildly, not for show — just a quiet, steady smile that feels as if it has lived here all along, waiting for me to notice it. It's a stark contrast to the chaos outside, a peaceful refuge in the midst of the storm.
Happiness does not have to be loud. It could be the softest thing in the world, a whisper in the wind, and still be strong enough to survive the longest night. It's a testament to the resilience of tranquility and the power of solitude to comfort and inspire.

A cradle for my thoughts 💕
So beautiful.
Such heartwarming words.
We can spend our life searching for happiness.
Comparing what we have to others.
Letting society dictate what it means for us to be happy.
This wastes time.
It leads to frustration.
It leads to disillusionment.
Heartbreak.
Real happiness is found in the everyday moments.
In each conversation.
In laughter.
In creating memories.
In sharing a smile.
Easing someone's day.
In family.
In friendship.
In days out.
In a hug.
In a kiss.
In a kind word.
In saying yes, to that night out, to go dancibg, to the movies, to getting that ice cream.
Happy is not filling in the blanks, it's allowing yourself the opportunity to be able to fill them in your own time and way 💜💕
