It's not at all your fault for feeling this way.

It starts at a young age, typically. Depending on how we are treated (especially when young by our parents) it can shape who we are and how we continue to grow.

We're social and require love and support from those around us. If you've experienced a lot of social rejection, it can greatly effect how you feel about self-sacrificing your feelings to please others. It's not an easy to cope with, but can be with time and social support.

I myself need to work on defining my boundaries so I do not self-sacrifice my comfort and cultivating healthy relationships that respect them. Also to practice self-care and love. Hopefully that can help as an idea? Everyone copes differently with their experiences of course.

It's definitely not something you chose or did to yourself. Your experiences and feelings are valid and people are here for you.

I think I get your feelings

Like when I struggle to see anything good about myself/have little motivation to improve myself/my life

'doing good things for other people has to be a step to being a good person right?'

and the fact that you're a giver, dedicate yourself to being good to people is great

but then when it becomes part of your identity and an excuse not to live your own life it's an issue

-and even though I'm in a rough spot rn,

in the past it has helped to look at myself objectively

not even the friendly advice you'd give a friend

the curt observation you'd give a stranger

"It's your life to live, it's your decision if your going to dedicate it to other people- but ultimately it's your choice ,you can't blame anyone else for not living it, there's a change you can make"

Not everyone will like you,ik it's just the way it is even if you try real hard

and it's scary and a lot of pressure to live for yourself

but it's not selfish, and you've gotta make a change if you wanna feel differently🌻💛

(I'm sorry if the pep talk I give myself is off the mark/rough around the edges😅)

I definitely feel the same. If I feel like no one's opinion of me is good, if I wasn't able to meet expectations, then what was the point of trying to be around and be accepted by others?
I'm trying my hardest to drag myself out of this mindset and try to do things for myself and to care less what other people might be thinking, but it feels like a mountain to climb and I don't have any equipment to do it.
