i dont know how to feel anymore (tw)
im not sure if this is the right place to post this.. but im really not feeling okay.
for background, im 21 and working, and i just started school to become a veterinary technician.. but my home life is very stressful.
I live with my parents for now, but its very, very toxic. Ive been to the doctor a couple of times, but its mostly for what my fathers caused. a few months ago, my father tried to punch my phone out of my hand, and i moved my phone quick enough but not my body, and he punched me pretty hard in my breast. a few months past by and i noticed a lump.. and i started getting worried that it might be cancer. i went and had a mammogram done, and they told me i had trauma to the area, and i started getting necrosis in my breast. the doctors asked me if i knew what had happened, but i lied and said no because i was fearful of what the results from that would be.
fast forward to today, just about an hour ago, my father tried to do it again. Mind you, its always out of site of my mother. He tried to punch it again and i asked him if he remembered what happened last time he tried to do that, and he ran into the bathroom and said "shut the f*** up, im the father youre the daughter." to which i replied "yeah and youre a man and im a woman, knock it off." i didnt feel safe at that point, so i went and found my mother and told her.. and she screamed in my face that im toxic. she proceeded to my dad and asked him what he did, and he lied and said he didnt at all, and that he was sitting on the couch, being quiet the entire time. my mom told him to stop touching me in general, and not to talk to me since i blow things out of proportion. then she turned to me and said "what next are you going to accuse your dad of??" I left the room after that point.. and i havent stopped crying since.
@pris32
I want to give you a hug. My heart is aching for you because your home should be a place where you feel the safest, and it's not a safe environment as long as your father is there. I understand that you do feel scared to report him. It must be very difficult for you.
I hope that you'll find a safe place where you can also be comfortable. That may or may not be in a group home or low-income housing or in another family/relative/friend's place.
Do you have any trusted person nearby who is willing to help you remove yourself in this situation?
