Social Media Has A Weird Effect On Me.  I have written about this before, but I don't think I have written about it on 7Cups.

Social Media seems to be so cool.  It gives you access to people that you wouldn't normally have access to in real life.  And then I realize that social media is not really social.  Yes some people in social media will respond my comments and emails.  But that is extremely rare.  It seems to be more of a showcase to the world.  In some ways I don't get it.  People send lots of times creating fantastic pictures and videos.  Some people spend time writing stuff.  Yet the comment sections seem to be just people giving opinions to the air.  I am like what is so social about that?

Just yesterday, asked someone on YT if they would like it if I would take their video and break it down into stills, and then rate each item they showed in an email.  This person seemed happy that I would do that.  I have been in communication with this person since this past summer.  So I know they appreciate the time I put into comments etc.  But it is rare!  I told them in the email that doing this for 98% of the people I see online, would be a waste of my time.  That is very true.  I will see if they ever write me back or not.  But knowing them, they probably will in a few days.

Over all looking at social media makes me feel yucky.  It must feel really hard to build a fan base.  Personally I don't want a fan base.  I was friends, and relationship.  That is what got me online.

I don't even consider myself to be a good writer.  I write because it is necessary for what I do online.
