Day 47 of car life,
In my last few post I cried about losing my driving privileges and being stuck without the ability to drive and homeless in the winter, as usual I avoided this and secured my driving privileges. Idk why I keep doubting myself by now I should realize I always win in the end.
Faith is something I think I need to re focus on. I randomly got a bonus from work and was able to pay my ridiculously high insurance right before the court date, I payed about 670 bucks and avoided a lapse. While at court I had to clean h my fist as I listened to the judge make fun of and harass other struggling people in a similar situation she was completely drunk on "power". One poor lady kept getting harassed by cops who were trying to take her car because her insurance wasn't "good enough" the cops stole her license and now she was in court. The way this particular court works is that they decide when and where you go all you decide is if you want to be allowed to drive a car in the country again. If yes then you gotta do everything they say. The judge said her license was fine and shes good to go and the woman asked if she can get some type of proof of that on paper because she is still getting harassed and threatened, the judge then started to make fun of her and told her it's not her problem even though the judge literally had a paper in her hand that she could of made copies of and given to the woman. I'd assume.it won't be long before that woman is stuck in court again despite not doing anything wrong. Whenever a black man talked to the judge she asked us if we had a job and only us. One man owned his own company so his company so the company name matched his last name. the judge acted as if this was impossible, not only did he have a job but he was the owner and CEO of a company. I respected the mans ability to stand his ground, I could see the judge starting to feel stupid for challenging him. The first woman who was bullied was a white woman, the judge was a black woman. When it was my turn the judge asked if I was employed even though I was wearing my work uniform and I already gave them my employers info. Since I planned ahead I got rid of any chance she had of bullying me since I already expected mistreatment. I had everything accounted for and all documents present and I already cleared up the insurance issue so she had no choice but to continue my driving privileges which I could see really *** her off. I noticed that she took out the privilege to care for my disabled sibling, I'm his only caregiver so I asked for them to edit this so that it matched the priveleges i had literally yesterday. She said that I don't get to decide what she writes and her coworker he actually read my case told her my sibling is dying and she needs to have a heart, all of her coworkers looked at her in shame and to save face she added back the privelege that she took away. The whole time I clenched my fist in order to not make a scene. I hate when people abuse authority I was ready to walk out without any priveleges. Every struggle I get when I do the right thing it tends to work out. I have to have faith in doing the right thing. Idk why I keep forgetting that.
Now I have limited driving privileges again! In April I will lose all driving restrictions except my sr22 requirement so I'll be able to go on road trips again,
In a couple of weeks I'll have housing also
I have to practice having faith in doing the right thing, I think that's what I'm lacking I have be comfortable with risking being a good person. It's a risk worth taking.
@affableTown5581 Wow, affable - very powerful post. You stayed strong, even when this situation had more negative than positive, and you came out ahead because you remained in control. Good for you! I have a hard time when individuals abuse their authority, as well, and I think in your shoes my hands would be hurting because I would also have lots of tension, trying to stay calm like you described. I am glad that your driving privileges are being returned. Your faith is inspiring. i hope to come across another even more positive post from you very soon!
