What is good/bad and Social Norms

I've struggled with these thoughts my entire life and it took me a long time to finally feel comfortable enough to even talk out against this in fear of public opinion on this specific topic. most people refuse to speak out about this and refuse to even ask questions to the people they trust most.

Everyone has a different scale and different ideals of good and bad. If you ask someone who loves animals on their opinions most would agree that hurting animals are bad and saving animals should be defined as good but then most animal lovers still consume animal products, eat meat, use animal materials. There are different opinions on said things as well as we have vegans who refuse to eat and use animal products or a lot of tribes believe that if you do kill an animal you just have to make sure not to waste any part of that animal. both vegans, animal lovers and tribes have a love for animals yet vegans think that anyone who eats animal product or uses it are bad while tribes think not using every part of a animal is bad.

this is one example of the many on how what's considered ok and good can be considered horrible and bad to someone else.

That also gets to social normals. those who do not think that heavily on what is good and bad but instead base their thoughts on what the majority of people around them consider to be good and bad.

religion and law is another form that people base their morals on, religion usually have a set of laws to follow and governments have laws and punishments for breaking said laws.

a lot of people seem to get overly sensitive when topics such as murder, rape, slavery or genocide seem to be mentioned as all of these topics include the suffering and death of a person/thing and is also heavily influenced by the people they talk to and the people others hang around.

So to answer the question of what is considered good/bad is not just a one off question that you can just ask. for example slavery used to be good and normal before but is considered horrible in todays standard in America.

Good and bad in my opinion is 1. based off of the area you are in and the social normal around that area and 2. based off of your personal beliefs/personal experiences and groups opinion that you spend the most time around.

What an incredible job in self reflection. If we could all be so candid with our own self reflections.
