I'm in tathers
if the household I live in has started to get toxic again because of a mistake I made by losing my snap cards. It was a very careless mistake but then the situation escalated. When we went to social services I found out that my uncle's snap card was not activated. I had filed two cases but the employee only took one since I said they were dating. this led me to blame myself for the fact my uncle doesn't have a case. It did not help when he gaslighted me into believing that I did not love him. My aunt has received her temporary one but they took the money off it which I know will be put on the next card. Yet I'm still blaming myself. Now everyone in the household has overgeneralized the whole situation to that they won't be able to pay their bills. which is my fault. Everyone in this household is catastrophizing and in survival mode. They've started to physically take their anger out on each other including my brother Abimael by hitting him while they passively verbally abuse me. This has led me to spiral since now I am asking myself if I'm even allowed to set a boundary which is I won't file paperwork for my uncle and aunt anymore because my mental health right now can't handle something going wrong especially since I'm living in a toxic household that got toxic because of my careless mistake. Before I made the mistake I had healed enough that I gained the skill of self-compassion. Now that's shattered. I cannot handle another distress. The main problem is I keep blaming myself for everything and so does everybody else. My peace has also been shattered so I came to ask if I'm allowed to set that boundary where I don't help them anymore because, in the state that I am, I can't allow myself to do that. I know this makes no sense but I'm trying very hard to make it make sense.

I'm sorry to hear that things have gotten so toxic in your household because of that mistake with the snap cards. It sounds like you're feeling overwhelmed and blaming yourself for everything that's going wrong. It's not not solely your fault. Mistakes happen, and it's not fair for everyone to put the blame on you. It's really important for your own well-being to set boundaries and take care of yourself in this situation. If helping with the paperwork is causing you distress and impacting your mental health, it's completely okay to step back from it. Your mental health should always come first, and you deserve to prioritize your own peace
