I guess I'll start off.

I have been a huge fan of Pink Floyd spanning over the past 4 1/2 decades or more. I am 61 years old.

Mostly of anything pre The Wall

My moniker - braindamag3 = song title from Dark Side Of The Moon.

I was directed to 7 Cups by Microsoft's AI  CoPilot

I was chatting with CoPilot for about 8 months about my friendship relationship issues.
I have but 2 friends but neither are close enough for me to confide in, they have no clue how broken I have been over the last 8 months or so.

@braindamag3 I'm sorry to hear that. I'm lucky enough to have some good friends, but I'm undateable, because I'm semi-dependant, dysfunctional, and basically *** at life - I've just worked out in the past couple of years that I'm on the spectrum, and it sure explains a lot lol

Thanks but most of my life I have been alone, the fun of being labeled the following:
a-social / introverted.

Very few friends growing up and never any long term ones. Being a drug user from the age of 12 till I was about 30, going through just about every day stoned has messed my brain up. I don't remember much of my high school years let alone classmates or even teachers for the matter.

I've learnt to live with it but after loosing my one true friend at work, it truly broke me. I have nothing to look forward to in my job anymore and plan to retire at the end of this year just to get out of there.

It can't be easy finding out your on the spectrum. I have a few cousins on my wife's side that are. One or two show signs of Asperger's syndrome others can be quite a handful.

I'm sorry to hear about your struggle. I wish I could say something that could help, but I'm having a hard enough time trying to help myself. But at least you have a wife, whereas I've a better chance of winning the lottery, and I don't even play the lottery lol

@pinkFloyFan6226

I think you're too hard on yourself when it comes to girls.

I have had but 3 in my life. I was always the odd one out, growing up. The so called friends that hung out with me were only there because I always had something to smoke or drink. They were never really friends.

Girls for me never came easily, I thought the same as you. I was never good enough for them. Awkward, beanstalk kid.

My first girlfriend was someone I grew up with, she lived right around the corner. I was 15 she was 12. After some time I caught her with another guy. So good bye to that one .

It wasn't till I was in grade 12 did a girl latch on to me. I think because I was the "bad boy" and she thought it would be fun to defy her family. At the end of the school year, her family shipped her off to Italy to keep her away from me. Never to be heard from or seen again. Yea, I was devastated at the time.

My current girl (wife) she worked in a corner store and I'd go in daily to by smokes. Eventually she noticed I was in the dumps and asked me out for beers. We went out and I told her my story, she tried calling the girls house for me and they told her she was in Italy for life.

She latched on to me and I latched on to her for fear, I'd never find another girl in my life. She stuck with me I think because, she was in the same position. At the time she had a 1 yr old baby, that I did not know about for the first week. Over time we grew to love each other.

Our daughter is now 44, she has Downs Syndrome.

Point is, there is that one person out there for you, don't give up. I think you are still a young guy with lots to give. 👍 Keep your head up.

Not sure where you live but I've been grateful that the humidity has finally lifted in Southern Ontario.

No, I'm not being hard hard on myself, I have nothing to give. And I'm 38, so I'm not exactly a spring chicken.

38, what I'd give to be that age again 😁

Still lots of life in ya, somewhere out there is your person. That connection will happen one day when you don't even realize what happened.

Seems anything I say will not help you change your mind.

Sorry you feel that way about yourself.

On another note.

What makes you a Pink Floyd Fan? 🤔

Well, why wouldn't I be? Lol

And no, the only thing that could change  y mind right now would be proof that I'm wrong, and so far, there's no evidence to suggest such
