@MusicCandy Hi! I decided it was easier to just start a new thread. I can't figure out the old one.

I am headed to my mom's tomorrow until Sunday night. Today is the fifth anniversary of dad's death. I couldn't get up there today, so it's the first time I won't be with her on the actual day. I won't be on here this weekend, so I'm writing this on Wednesday.

Yesterday I made my first trip to the mountains in a long time. I hiked to Mary's Rock. It was not crowded and was great weather. It was kind of funny hiking in a t-shirt with snow on the ground!

Today we are celebrating my DIL's birthday. The actual day is Saturday but I'll be at mom's. I am going to make the Korean dessert that I made for New Year's, since their dog ate all the leftovers and she didn't get to try much of it. Then I have some cleaning to do, and some errands to run, and then pick her up 45 min away because my son is here at work near our house. I'm going early enough to drop by my other son's house first to meet his new dog. He and his fiancee are adopting a 2 year old. I need to do laundry to prepare for my trip, and need to write detailed instructions for my pet sitters. I have an old note to work from, but I have a new lady coming one day and I need to make it extra-detailed for her. She is a pet sitting company, so it will cost me, but I need another person in my rotation of feeders. So it's a busy day today!

I am grateful for my spring break this week that allows me to do all these things. I spent the weekend doing very little because I knew the rest of the week would be very busy! I don't like getting home the evening before I have to go back to work, since I won't get laundry, shopping, or cooking done, but it couldn't be helped!

I hope the new thread works out, and that I tagged you correctly so you will see it!

I hope your week has gone well, and here's to five more years of messages to come!

Hello my friend, this week was pretty good, especially yesterday at school. We all get to wear costumes, and at the end of the day we have a parade on the bus loop. It was fun to see all the things everyone dressed in. This weekend I am dog sitting for my son and daughter-in-law for the first time. I just got to their house about a half hour ago. They left me cheese, crackers, bottle of wine and some chocolates! I will handle trick-or-treating tonight, which I am excited about because we never get any at our house. They said it will only be a few, so I’ll get a little taste of it without it being overwhelming, and I will surely eat a lot of the candy myself. I’ve brought a costume so that will add to the fun for me.

I know the news about that man was a big shock for you, so I wanted to see how you were coping with it. I’m glad you got to talk to someone. I’m so glad to hear that the family has support from:both sets of parents. His parents are probably horrified about what he has done. I guess she has little choice but to take him back when he gets out, if only financially. I hope he can find a way to support them.

Im very good to hear that your septic paperwork is approved! Fingers crossed for the work to start soon! Congratulations on losing the three pounds, and fingers crossed for three more when you try it again! I’d love to lose 6 pounds!! (She says while eating crackers and cheese and contemplating leftover Halloween candy)

We spoke at length to our son. I can’t remember if I told you that he had written a very long and detailed email to his project manager here in the US. He had a two hour long phone call with HR, and spent the week at home at their direction. The woman was sympathetic, and appalled at some of the things he told her. She was going to talk some of the others in the office throughout the week. They told him to do whatever online training he could find on their website. Their office recentl got a new laptops, and the project manager said they are trying to get them running so that he can take one and do more actual work. He has now also been told to come in Monday for “ new tasking ,” but he doesn’t know what that means yet. Fingers crossed, and continued prayers, please!

I’ve brought themakings for chai with me so I can still have some tomorrow even though I am not home!Apparently one of their two great big hound dogs, who sleeps with them in the bed at night, is going to expect to sleep in the double bed in the guest room with me tonight, so I’m not sure how much sleep I will actually get!

I hope your week goes well, and you and are enjoying this beautiful fall weather!

Well, Personally, I would not be able to sleep with a big dog on the bed, so that would be a no for me. One of our 3 kitties comes up to me when I get in bed and gives me some love and then finds another spot to sleep. But I'm sure you will figure something out. Happy days at school are always a bonus. It sounds like fun to dress up and see the kids especially. Candy is just a given for Halloween.

Your kids set you up! Enjoy and I hope a few littles come by. I live on a side street and no kids, so Fiance won't be bothered. Working myself and the ED will get crazy later for sure. Lots of candy here too. I didn't lose any more this week and didn't put much effort into it, so maybe I'll try next Monday. Rachael, Abi and their Dad in Massanutten next week and I want to use the time to clean out some more stuff. That reminded me to check on Mercy Mall- a place that gives stuff away, no questions asked and they have specific needs and drop off times.

I am keeping your son in my prayers- it looks like he is trying to take positive steps anyway. It still has to be so hard with them so far away. Praying for your heart to be at peace even in difficult circumstances. I was sad when Patrick Stewart died. I had such a crush. I told fiance he was safe when Patrick got married. Its the eyes and the no hair, like my Mom lived Yul Brenner. Oh well. After Tuesday, the D... political ads will finally be gone. It will be interesting and hopefully no glitches or violence. Do you get the day off?  Enjoy your chai and have fun.
