So in physics, there's this model we use called Quantum Mechanics (QM) that describes the atomic world but it does so without any theory behind it. It also doesn't tend to mesh well with what we see happen on large scales (it doesn't involve gravity, for instance) so it's generally considered somewhat "incomplete."
I really like the idea of a completed and sense-making QM, so I like to try out my ideas and see what happens, and if my models of reality don't match reality I make them into little universes in simulations (which is pretty cool to see). This time, I was making mine and it did something really surprising I thought was very cool.
The basic idea is that you can imagine space as a fabric of clocks- so a grid where there's a hand on each point. There's a certain amount of deviation in the system, and that must stay the same across time. You can define the deviation through either it's flow rate, the clock field itself, or what I call the d-function, which dictates sort of both and neither at once. If you start by defining the flow rate or the field, everything turns out fine, but if you start with the d-function, things start to get indeterminate, or unknown.
The cool thing about this was that the d-function is actually interpreted as the energy state of the field; if you only know the energy, you can't definitively predict what will happen in the future. This is exactly what makes QM so weird, you may have heard about this before- like uncertainty and all that. So that was a very telling "this is the right direction for me" 😄

especially the part where your model naturally started creating uncertainty like QM does I can see why that felt like a “wait hold on…” moment for you

I'd love to see a story in which god comes back, I've only written about what the devil does while he's gone 🤷♂️

@Kalia77 this is kind of depressing but it's literally just earth as it is, because god's gone and no one's stopping anything. But nature doesn't like a vacuum and over time he slides into some moral gray place, so he basically blesses people into like... mass murder machines and sends them to eradicate armies and cartels and stuff, its brutal
and then humanity hates those people cause they're mass murderers basically, so they hunt them and stuff, devil gets *** off and kills everyone
@raphael86 Sounds.. interesting? Definitely something I would read (I'll read anything). For a moment I was thinking the Devil might just completely redesign life as we know it, completely screw over the morals we've established

@raphael86 yes but instead of children its a thai restaurant vs a Chinese restaurant that both have someone out front calling you over to try their samples
