I think I’m a sociopath

I never really knew what a sociopath path was for the longest. Whenever I would ask people always left it at crazy. But now that I’ve begun digging into it I’m seeing myself in pretty much all of these points listed. Like most things I don’t know how to feel about this. What should I do? And how can I know for sure?

@Enigma2003 Hi! It's difficult to tell whether you're actually one because of various reasons. Primarily,
1. Sociopath is not described as a mental health disorder. No authentic professional will diagnose you as one. However, Antisocial Personality Disorder (APD) can be diagnosed for which you may reach out to a Psychiatrist directly or ask your general physician to direct you to one. Before doing that, it's helpful to consider why you want a diagnosis in the first place. While it gives some peace of mind to know, sometimes it's counterintuitive to put ourselves into categories. A diagnosis does not mean you will do this but there might be an urge to.
2. We often identify with certain descriptions of any label but may not necessarily have that label because there are other complex mechanisms that only a mental health professional can diagnose based on established standards. Hence, trying to find out yourself based on online descriptions is often misleading. Plus it can make you anxious and confused. Not knowing how to feel about it is understandable.
Keep in mind that not all traits are necessarily problematic. Do the traits that make you feel you are a Sociopath bother you? harm yourself or other people in any way? If you answer yes to any of these questions, it's best to talk to a mental health professional like a Clinical Psychologist.
Have a great day ahead!
