Coping with over expressing.
How do you stop yourself from expressing extremes in emotions or your fear of abandonment. Right now I using quick notes (like texting without the consequences) whenever I feel the urge to get reassurance or verbally vomit how I feel onto my exhausted loved ones. Does anyone else have a good or even bad ;) coping practice they use to protect loved o es from ups and downs?

Thank you for sharing and welcome 💓🤗
We need to think before we act in very high emotions. What I do is before I send an angry or upset text I write it down and go back to it about an hour later and ask myself would I like to get this kind of message ? Sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't.
Because our BPD is very hard to control when it comes to our emotional mind we need to STOP. You can view my thread on the STOP skill. https://www.7cups.com/forum/PersonalityDisordersSupport_81/HealingFromPersonalityDisorders_595/DBTSTOPSKILL_190321/
Its also important to look at 3 parts of our mind and learn to balance between the 3.
Rational mind.
Wise mind.
emotional mind.
You can also have a reasonable mind. Reason between the 3 minds.
Dbt skills can really help if one practice them over and over again. 💓🤗
hope this helps. Message me if you have any questions 💓🤗
@Rivercat22 this is really helpful, thank you
@lovingWater6850 Do you keep a journal? That might be a way to express yourself without fear of oversharing or leaving yourself vulnerable, etc.
