Hello. My partner has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder with pseudo psychotic symptoms and transient bipolar with narcissistic rage. Just wondering if anyone has any information or experience with therapy treatments, medications, coping mechanisms etc.

Thank you, Jordana

@Jordana2216 Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT). It's a pretty intensive therapy, but it's the most effective for BPD. Be careful when looking for a provider, though. A lot of places will say they do DBT, but they really so a watered down version of it that involves just the skills training, which doesn't work very well on its own. Check on Marsha Linehan's website. She developted DBT and lists certified providers. It can be hard to find one if you don't live near a big city, though. In that case, you might want to see if somewhere nearby can provide Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). It's okay for BPD. Not a good as DBT, but it can be okay. DO NOT accept DBT if it's not from a certified provider. It won't work without all of its components.
