Difference between BPD and Emotionally unstable disorder?
Hello all!
I was recently diagnosed with emotionally unstable disorder but when i search it usually BPD comes up. I was wondering if there is a difference between these diagnoses if so, what differences? Or are they classed as the same?

Short answer: They're the same thing :)
It's called "emotionally unstable personality disorder" in the ICD-10 (a classification system made by the World Health Organization) and called "borderline personality disorder" in the DSM-5 (a classification system made by the American Psychiatric Association). There might be subtle differences in how they each write about it, since there's just bound to be slight differences in anything. But overall, they are referencing the same thing

@OPinyon as far as I know, they are two separate things, one being a personality disorder and the other a stress disorder (though have many similar symptoms and are often co-morbid, they are still distinct). Could be I'm not up-to-date but that's my understanding of it anyways
Agree with previous comments BPD and EUPD are the same thing, it depends on the person what they want to call it. Some find EUPD a more descriptive term, but they are the same!
