Fighting For You
I can't really go into a lot of details because all it does when I do causes more issues in my life. This weekend has taught me that I literally have no control over my life and the only way I can get what I need in my lie is to make people think I'm going to hurt myself even if I tell them I'm not they still tell me to call crisis lines or go to the hospital. The thing is, the hospital refused to help me last time because I wasn't actually suicidal. What I learned is that once people realize that you have a mental health condition nothing you say matters unless they understand. I am at a point where I am doing everything I possibly can in life (according to my therapist) and I only have enough resources to go a day at a time and no options. I don't have any community options available either. Literally everywhere I turn is a dead end and sometimes gets the things I enjoy taken away from me. This is a problem, and it happens all of the time and society keeps it this way and for some reason it is hard for me to get anyone to realize this.
The people who know what I'm dealing with more in depth are proud of me, and frustrstrated because their hands are tied also. But they are inspired by who I am being despite everything. So while you may not know me or see the things I'm doing, I just want you to know tthat everything I am doing is so that I can make a change in the world that will hopefully make the world a little bit easier for us. It's going to be a hard fight but it's worth it.
I love supporting people and listening and being able to put even a small smile on people's face. And I wish I could invite you all to PM me whenever you need someone to talk to, but my life is too hectic I can't be reliable or dependable, so even if I can't listen, I am supporting you in ways you don't see.

Dear Stitchy,
Brilliant post.
I am sorry you are going through so much at the moment. What you had written up there, I could not have said it any better... It is hard for people to understand, when we deal with a mental health condition, and it is even harder for them to relate or empathise with what they have no understanding of. Understanding someone is hard, let alone understanding someone who is going through a lot ... but it is not impossible.
The society has conditioned us to believe that most mental illnesses are normal, and sometimes people wonder " Do I really deserve health, this is nothing ". And to some, being in a condition where you are not physically hurt but your mind is hurting is not worth the time, effort or understanding. That is the sad reality. But at the same time, in our community here , and in real life, some people strive to understand. Just like you, they strive to make the world a better place and provide the support a lot of people need. I very much hope you will meet more people, who with just a few words will undersand.
You have a loud voice and you deserve to be heard and understood. And your passion for others, and your passion to make this world a better place , together with your awesomeness and determination, are some of the reasons why I admire you so much.
I am sending you big hugs, and I hope that soon, you will find what you are looking for.

Thank you! It's people like you that keep me talking.
Have you heard of R U OK Day? in Australia? If not look it up
I want to bring that to my country.
I have a friend who is paid to travel internationally to do documentaries who wants to do a documentary with me. We've been talking about it for 2 years. I have good reason to believe I could contact the person who started this in Australia and get their help bringing it to the United States. My friend and I could apply for a grant to do a documentary on how the project is going in Australia to bring back here to propose as a national awareness day. I've always wanted to go to Australia, but never believed it was possible until now.
I want to start a blog. On the blog I want it to have separate pages.
1. Information about mental health (particularly trauma and the brain) based on research
2. My story, my battles, my journey, my victories
3. Sharing my art work and poems
I want to do a facebook group for people to share their story through art and poetry and music, however they want to express themselves.
I'm applying for a workshop that will teach me how to tell my story in a way that allows me to travel to tell my stories at schools and businesses to raise awareness.
This is just a small part of what I want to do... I just don't know where to start and how to get people to pay attention to the blog and facebook group.
@InvaderStitch
I have heard of R U OK, and I think it is a great campaign .. you wanting to do something similar is just amazing ... I'm going to post the link here, for people who want to learn more about it: R U OK DAY?
It sounds like you have many awesome ideas about how to spread awareness and help people, I 100% believe in you, and I know you could do it! I hope more people would follow your example and do things to make this world better, even if it is just a little bit.
Setting up a blog could definitely be beneficial, both to you and your readers.. I wish you the best of luck with it, and can't wait to hear how things are going.
Sending you some big hugs, to you and whoever needs them.
You are all awesome.
