Im not sure how the app is suppose to work. Any time I try to talk to a listener they are not available. Chat rooms everyone is already in their conversation and Im to awkward to join in. I try to say hello, but no one responds..

Well, we are responding.
To do the live chat thing, you join a queue, or approach a particular listener. If they are online, you will have to wait if they are already with someone. If they are not available (orange or red dot) then they will answer when they are next online.
