How to handle it.
I was diagnosed this past year. It's been so chaotic. More than usual. I was doing so good so far this year. Today I found out I was cut from my health insurance. I took it very poorly. My first thoughts were of finding a quiet, secluded place in the woods and just being alone. I normally would've followed through, but it's so hard. I was inadvertently lucky because I was too dissociated to leave the house.
So cutting myself off there, how would you handle the extreme reactions? I'm really new to this and have spent more time trying to confirm or deny the diagnosis than learning how to live with it.
Absolutely any help is welcome and appreciated. Thank you.
Hi there @drysherbert
Firstly I would like to welcome you here! I am glad you have found 7Cups and this subcommunity specifically, and I hope we will be able to offer you the support you are looking for.
I am really sorry to hear they have cut you from health insurance and I understand how that would feel very difficult and challenging. I don
@admaiorasemper
Thank you for your kindness. I'll address a few points
The insurance can't be appealed, but I found I'm eligible to apply for state funded insurance due to my disability. So that might be ok.
You're giving me good ideas, and I actually feel slightly more confident since I'm familiar with some of it. I'm especially familiar with DBT, I had a month long course, but my insurance cut my funding two weeks in. I was glad I still got some treatment instead of none.
I'll work with what you've given me, you've helped a lot. Take care!
