Scared and Anxious - Newly Diagnosed with BPD
Hi everyone. My name is Sandra and I am 22 years old. I recently got diagnosised with BPD in January, sort of. I got the diagnosis when I was in hospital last August but no one sat me down and said you have BPD and this is what it means for you. It wasn't until Jan this year that a psychiatrist sat me down in the ER and said has someone told you that you have BPD and what it means. Everything has come as an overwhelming heap on top of me. What does my life expect to be with BPD? What is DBT like? How can I trust the specialists when they didn't have the honesty to tell me in August when they knew I had BPD?
@mymentalmountain Hi! I'm sorry you're feeling scared and anxious, and rightfully so considering the situation. A new diagnosis can be frightening. DBT is usually the best therapuetic approach. I wish you the best and know that this is something you can deal with effectively.
How can I be a listener ?
