Undiagnosed but Suspecting.
I’m new to this whole online therapy thing, so forgive me if I’m not doing this correctly. To start off, I’ve noticed that I check a lot of boxes in terms of Borderline Personality Disorder and I’m not sure how to go about talking to a professional, or even my loved ones about it. I’ve went through a lot of trauma in my life and I feel like I unload a lot of those repressed emotions onto other people and I hate feeling like a burden to my loved ones because I do fear that if I tell them about my behaviors (which have also been taken note of by them, but the behavior is a lot worse than it may initially come off as because I hide them pretty well). I don’t know if I need a kick in the ass to go to therapy or if I’m just being dramatic. Any type of support or words of wisdom you can share with me helps, I’m just lost as to what to do. Thanks in advance.
I meant to add that I do fear if I tell them the truth about all of my behaviors that they will hate me or I will lose them, which is a very real possibility. *
we’re kind of in a same situation right now so i can understand. my advice is that you should research more about bpd, take online tests from different sites. and if it really says that you have a high possibility of having one, you should really consult a professional. especially if you know that you’re getting worst day by day and everything just feels so distressing and urgent.
you might also want to prepare the proof (from the tests) and other information and show it to a professional. this is so that you can get help ASAP & get diagnosed easily. these are what i did, anyway. i didn’t want to let my parents and friends know, too. so i secretly booked an appointment without anyone knowing - using the money i saved up.
i’m not sure if this might work for you, though, and i’m sorry for that. i know that not everyone can easily get the help they need, especially since professional help is expensive and not accessible to everyone.
but i do hope you get the help that you need. sincerely.
