Is it them, or is it me?
Am I the villain problem for keeping the peace?

I hold it in, I bite my tongue,
Guess I was grown old before I was young.

They cry, they vent, they fall apart,
But I just roll my eyes and guard my heart.

"You never break, you’re always okay."
But no one ever asks if I feel that way.

Maybe I’m harsh, maybe I’m mean,
Or maybe I’m just never seen.

Note: It seems the formatting didn't work exactly as intended. In the first stanza, the word "villain" is struck through, and in the second stanza, "grown" is struck through.

@Keith22534 This poem cuts deep—strength mistaken for indifference, silence mistaken for ease. That last line lingers, heavy. It’s not cruelty, just exhaustion from never being asked, never being seen. A quiet ache in every word. I resonate with the lines, "You never break, you’re always okay." People often say I don’t need anyone—maybe they’re right, but it’s still exhausting. I see you, I hear you.
