A gamble
Growing up too quickly,
Yet too slow.
What a pain it is,
to be this low.
Do the stars thank the dark
For making them so bright?
Or do they believe love is
only an embrace that's too tight?
I wish I can dream of more,
But every night,
you make it hard to ignore,
How painless life can be,
And how you make it feel,
like a chore.
Between loss and wining,
between souls that drain light,
in spite of the dark.
How selfish. Isn't it?
To want so much more,
Yet hurt so many,
And still be bored.
Say you are lost?
Affection is so confusing?
Help is what you need?
or is it control you are seeking?
Because it ain't a joke,
When you are so greedy.
You'd rather choke,
Than admit you're guilty.
Because you'd be so wrong,
If you really think,
you're winning
at this game,
Painlessly.
trying for so long?
Yet so selfishly,
you take it out on me?
Love isn't so soft,
When you hold it like that.
How dreadful can it be
To think that love,
Is to be wanted-
no, needed.
Yet burn it,
Mistakingly,
When you can't keep it.
Keep playing,
Because Losses won't count,
As long as someone's staying.
Yet when they don't,
And you don't either,
Just know,
it was always just another gamble.
And I folded long ago.

i don’t even know how to explain this properly, but your poem genuinely stayed in my head after i read it. the way you write feels so real and natural, like every line actually carries emotion instead of just sounding pretty for the sake of it. i could feel the emotions behind the words, and that’s honestly rare. some parts felt soft, some heavy, and somehow all of it flowed together perfectly.
what i liked most is that it didn’t feel forced at all. it felt honest. like you wrote something that actually came from inside you instead of trying to impress people, and i think that’s what made it beautiful. there are lines i kept rereading because of how they hit me emotionally. your writing has this calm but powerful feeling to it.
seriously, don’t stop writing. you have a way with words that can really make people feel something, and not everyone can do that. your poem genuinely hit something in me, the way you write is actually beautiful😔🫶🏻🌸
